Good morning all!
Writing this in the first wee hours of Easter Sunday! I had a huge celebration with my family last night and I had so much fun. My family is filled with wonderful people and every time we get together to celebrate I come home so happy to have them in my life. We had roughly 15 people at my grandparent’s house. We served a 19.5lb ham, which almost carved itself because it was so moist and tender. My grandpa makes THE best mashed potatoes and my personal favorite–HAM GRAVY. If you’ve never had it, you are missing out BIG time. I contributed 60 deviled eggs which at first I thought was going to be too many but after the crowd cleared I only had maybe 20 or so left over. Which, between my husband and I will go quickly. 🙂 We also had wonderful organic vegetable and fruit salads. For dessert, 3 lemon meringue pies. All in all, I say we feasted like kings. I hope you all are able to spend some time with family now and then. It is important to remember the amazing people you have in your life and spend good quality time with them! You all know that I can’t resist making food and not photographing it. So here are some images of the eggs I made! I even made a quick spring bouquet to emphasize the Easter colors! Enjoy!
A QUICK EASTER ADDITION!!!
Today I had Easter dinner with my husband’s family! We had another round of delicious ham and potatoes! We also had a tasty seven layer salad and warm rolls! In addition to the tasty meal, my mother-in-law made a pound cake “lamb” cake. Her mother would make one each year and we decided it would be fun to carry on the tradition and make one this year! We piped the frosting onto the cake to make it appear as though it was fur. Then we used jelly beans to make the eyes and mouth. I thought it would be cute to add in some little Easter chicks as friends of our little lammy.
I want some of them cookies :). Happy Easter!
Thank you for sharing that. It’s beautiful!!
