Came across a delicious looking recipe in a magazine at work and knew it was my next blog post. Chet was up at our cabin turkey hunting this weekend, so I had the house to myself and figured I should make the most of it. I love my husband, but I’ve noticed that I’m so much more productive when he isn’t around! 🙂 We don’t have a lot of time together during the week, so the weekends are always our time to catch up and be together. I get lazy and end up just laying around in pj’s with him watching TV rather than shooting like I should be! 🙂
Anyways, I ran to the store to get ingredients, fully intending to follow the recipe to a T. As I was hemming and hawing about which of the several brands of Greek yogurt I should use, I spotted a small container of blood orange Greek yogurt. I love blood orange and decided to use that rather than plain for an extra pop of flavor. This tart is so good I’m going to include the recipe for you all to try. Which you should do, because if you don’t your life is missing something incredible. The crust is made from crushed cornflakes mixed with melted butter and honey. Soo delicious, I could eat the crust alone! To finish, thinly slice various citrus for garnish (I used oranges and grapefruit) and warm up some orange marmalade to drizzle on top.
You have gorgeously captured this dessert! The lighting really enhances the textures, and colors of the food. What a cheery, and colorful posting! This was an interesting recipe to find. I really like the overall color combinations.
