POM Wonderful

So it seems as though I didn’t think 5 hours of photographing to create my outdoor/indoor assignment was enough for one day. When I got back home I wanted to take some pictures and make use of the 6 pomegranates I suddenly needed to eat. I thought it would be interesting to try making some images that would resemble a magazine ad promoting POM brand pomegranate juice. It has been a long time favorite drink of mine, though I admit I don’t buy it often since it is a bit pricey for the amount you get…but MAN is it tasty! Enjoy the first two are plain images and the last is a little mock-ad I created.

Awesome work Char! If this is what you are creating on your own time, I can not wait til your advertising class next semester…You are going to outshine all of us!

Wow, those are gorgeous. The way you placed the arils reminds me of a snake, which is one of the themes we just used in our first TV ad (up on our website), or perhaps a question mark.

Thank you so much for the compliment! It means a lot to me to have a representative of POM comment on my images. Stay tuned for some more images and feel free to visit my blog again!

Sounds like a plan, Beth! Maybe over the summer you can take an extended trip down to visit and we can work on some images together!

  4. I love the first one. It’s really simple and geometric, and Holly Approves. This is going to sound weird but I have never had a pomegranate, and from the looks of them I wouldn’t know how to eat one if I had the chance.
