Hey all-
I recently received my two new b400 alien bees complete with stands, umbrella reflectors, and carrying bags thanks to my generous grandparents!! They gave me a check so I could purchase the equipment as an early Christmas gift. The two of them are some of the best people I know, and I couldn’t be more grateful for this gift from them. Not only will it give me the opportunity to better myself as a photographer, but hopefully I can produce even more images without the hassle of checking equipment out from the school! I am so so excited. My next purchases will be soft boxes to go along with the alien bees, and hopefully that mighty expensive 70-200mm 2.8 telephoto. 😀
Anyways, I just got the lights in the mail yesterday so I thought it would be fun to try them out attempting photographing my new Christmas ornaments that I got at the Hallmark Christmas in July ornament premiere. (yes…I am that fanatic about my ornaments and Christmas that I was willing to sit in line on a Friday night until hallmark opened its doors at midnight) I tried to use my summer portrait class knowledge to set up a high key background format…but wasn’t entirely successful. I am used to working on a larger scale and I’m not quite sure how to adjust it to such a small size. If any of you have any know-how on how to accomplish this please, do share.
It has been quite a while since I put any work up, it has mainly been due to working a lot…bills have to be paid, you know, I’m sure. Be prepared though to see a lot more work in the coming weeks! For now, here’s my first shoot with the new lights! Enjoy!
ps. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THESE IMAGES ARE CUT OFF OR IF YOU CANNOT VIEW THE ENTIRE PHOTOGRAPH. I’m trying to adjust the sizes for the blog format. THANKS!
I WANT ORNAMENTS!!! i’m very jealous 🙂
