A friend of mine shared a link to a blog recently which discussed this issue of photographers struggling with what many refer to as the “soccer mom phenomenon” this being that many people who have cameras believe they are entitled to become their city’s next best portrait photographer, etc, despite the fact that they have no formal training in photography and create a sub-par standard for their clients which unfortunately, clients are willing to pay for. This blog discusses this subject and encourages PROFESSIONAL photographers to really evaluate themselves when deciding on pricing and how to help to deflate the growing issue of the soccer mom phenomenon within the photographic industry. I encourage anyone who reads this to take a look at the blog and keep all of his talking points in mind when you begin your photo career.
Good info for any photographer to absorb!
